Mathew Fobete Gwan-Nulla

He grew up in Limbe, a small city in the South-West Region of Cameroon. The region which has a diverse topography and lush vegetation, is agriculture rich and blessed with huge abundance of bamboo, an evergreen plant that grows wildly on the volcanic soils around Limbe. It is also home to the highest point in West and Central Africa (the second highest on the continent) - Mount Cameroon. And to the wettest place in Africa (the second wettest in the world) - Debundscha.

His institutional schooling began at PNEU school in Bota, Limbe, later, St. Joseph’s College, Sasse. He attended Morrison’s Academy, Scotland, for high school, after which he enrolled at the University of Maine, Fort Kent, USA.
A graduate in Business and Finance, he is an entrepreneur and social actor, a “socio-preneur”. His interest in nature, the environment, and sustainability, began many years ago when his medical doctor and farmer father introduced him to the farm. A farmer himself now, he avidly collects plastic wastes having nursed the idea of plastic recycling.

Co-founder of Global Technology Services, an innovative renewable energy firm, he believes in the power of enterprise to effect transformative change in communities. He is an advocate for sensible social and environmental management, who strongly supports local investment initiatives and local capacity building. A problem solver, solution oriented, he relishes challenges, quickly spotting opportunities in them. And responsive to solving them.
