Bamboo pole, also known as bamboo stem, bamboo stick, and bamboo culm (although culm mostly describes the young bamboo shoot), is the raw material for all bamboo products.

Bamboo is recommended to be harvested after four years of age for best result.  Some poles can attain 250-300 mm in diameter.
